2 This particular clock case, proudly shown off by Vicki Zakin, had a finish that been subjected to environmental extremes. With some TLC and sweat a beautiful rosewood veneer was revealed.
3 This clock case sets the record for being the largest clock we've seen upstairs in the Educational building. This Herschede tall case clock had a dull finish and some loose parts. Scott Lemke relaxes after a job well done.
4 Most restoration or conservation work is meticulous and time consuming. That's part of the enjoyment of it. Here Steve Skrasek is making final repairs to his Vienna Regulator Door for finish preparation.
5 Mixing shellac and a metallic dye to make a toner proved to be the key to help Steve Skrasek put the midas touch on this Vienna regulator. Here, Steve is polishing the case with 0000 steel wool and a pigmented paste wax to give the shellac finish a uniform satin sheen. Wow!
6 Gary Mowery shows off his mahogany English fusee case that needed some moderate restoration. The finish is just about ready to be polished out.
